Haiti Journey, Day 5

Day 5 Haiti Journey: an incredible day! The launch day of our Libellule Training Academy Sewing Course in the new premises on the main street of Carrefour was the same day that the riots rolled into this area for the first time ever! But we were totally safe in the secure building! We were so focused on the Enrolment Ceremony with our 5 Mums from Love Community (LC) and 4 Mums that had walked in off the street, that we didn’t notice much until it after we were finished and had to leave safely with all the mums and all the team! 

So 4 Mums off the street joined up immediately when they heard what course was being offered! None had finished school but are able to now undertake this course! Our first course is full! 🎉🎉🎉
Enrollment Day was led by Reginald and Johanne ... our incredible leaders and visionaries! With John and I and all our team there to celebrate! Our 5 mums from Love Community had been visited in their homes in the previous days where Ben and I, with Alyssa and Robin were able to share through our Social Worker /translator, Yndjy, that they were each sponsored into this life-transforming vocational course! Reggie, John, Laurie, Robin and Ben had worked hard with our Haiti team to have the building painted and prepared on time! ...And so we made sure everyone got home safely after enrolling all our mums and celebrating with them... we all quietly and quickly slipped out to waiting transport in a back street. We all went home with full hearts for our beautiful mums and their children and families ...and burdened hearts for this precious people who riot out of desperation... to see justice and integrity from their leaders!
