The Oasis ProjectThe Oasis Project aims to initiate and build businesses with vocational training opportunities for families with children, in the Hilltribe villages of Thailand.
In December 2012, we aided the community in collectively purchasing 5000m2 of orchard land at Doi Saket, located immediately beside the village headquarters which includes several of homes. This land now includes a bakery, commercial kitchen and guest accommodation. Lack of drinkable water is a significant issue at Doi Saket. We train and work alongside a local construction team, to undertake building projects, build concrete water tanks and fit gutters to these buildings and local homes. |

Traditional bore water access has become less reliable with overuse and we hope to move to a more sustainable water solution. Our local partner- crew in Thailand are also involved in construction of buildings.
We are now in planning stages with our local NGO in Doi Saket, to develop educational programs - particularly English immersion primary (elementary) school, and also vocational training in trade skills.
Part of the vision of Oasis Project is to undertake self-sustaining and income-generating projects that will bring in income through training-to-work, as it serves the community and, ultimately, generates resources to further assist this vision.
