JULY 2024 EOFY NEWS - THE TENSION OF CELEBRATION IN THE MIDST OF DEVASTATION

Over the last few years we’ve continued to share the atrocities of the humanitarian crisis happening right now in Haiti. 

• The reports share stats including children who are being recruited to be part of armed gangs and are subject to coercion, exploitation, and abuse. 
• The skyrocketing cost of food is causing negative coping strategies for families, as they simply cannot afford to buy enough for their families.
  
  

The reality is that we are living in tension—the tension of the devastation and the awe of the strength and determination of the LIFLIM staff on the ground in Haiti. Below are so many snapshots of successes and reasons to celebrate amidst the chaos and challenges! Many of these blessings have been made possible through YOU - our sponsors and donors - and also through our inspirational Haiti Ambassador - MICHAEL CROSSLAND

We know things like this are difficult to read and think about for you - our families and friends who continue to care and to give.
At the same time, in the midst of these circumstances, there are incredible ways we have seen our leaders from our Haitian partner - NGO "Light for Living International Ministries",   overcome such difficulties and hardships as they serve their communities.

So let's meet some of our amazing leaders from LIFLIM (Light for Living International Ministries - our partner NGO in Haiti,) who constantly monitor and support our children and families across our multiple humanitarian Programs:

These incredibly  passionate and dedicated men and women, share stories with us in our regular monthly meetings, of how even though our families and children and students in Carrefour live in the constant reality of the gangs, the violence, the sickness, the food shortages and sky-rocketing inflation - they are grateful every day that we are partnering with them faithfully to support the children and families with

• food packages,
• community programs,
  
• sponsorships and
• education.

We want you to know that our sponsored children and families are all safe, they have you and us all together -THANK YOU.

With your help and generosity, in the last year alone, we have worked with LIFLIM leaders (our partner NGO),  to:

BOUVIER, CARREFOUR

• Provide educational sponsorship for over 150 students - including multiple students sponsored by
• Employ 5 teachers, 1 administrative Supervisor & a School cleaner
• Ongoing and regular professional development workshops for the teachers - with the support  of GOLDEN EGG HOME LOANS, Australia. To support the teachers, a Haitian School Supervisor - Mr Jean, also joined the team! He has been employed to tailor specialised teacher development training and provide professional supervision for the teachers. This has been made possible due to GOLDEN EGG HOME LOANS (Australia) beginning with us as a strategic partner, late 2023. We are so thankful that they are now supporting Bouvier School teachers through training!  
• Provide Christmas & Academic celebrations with hot meals for all students  & staff
• Purchase a Starlink system to be installed for wifi at the school
• Provide extra food parcels for the teachers at Bouvier

• Inspired Education Australia (IEA) has again partnered with Frontier Projects Haiti - with the aim to facilitate the sponsoring, improving, developing and facilitating the education of the children in need, in Bouvier School, Haiti. 1  x IEA Workshop = 1 x Child Sponsored with over 45 students already sponsored - 2022-24!    Check out the inspirational video.
  

IN CARREFOUR, PORT AU PRINCE

• Provide Full Personal & Educational sponsorship for 9 orphans at Love Community Home
• Provide Full Personal Sponsorship to 20 children supporting them & their families holistically & in community.
• Employ our Programs' Co-coordinator (Johanne) & Programs' Social Worker (Yndjy)
• Employ our Administrative Supervisor - Mr Jean
• Provide medical assistance and supplements supplies for our sponsored children as the needs arise
• Provide Christmas & birthday celebrations and gifts for all our sponsored children & staff

Hatchlings Early Learning in Australia - Our incredible Educational Sponsors for all our LCH children!

Hatchlings Early Learning Group in Australia heard about the incredible Love Community story through our inspirational ambassador, Michael Crossland.
Rachel Langford and the whole team at Hatchlings - across their two campuses at Waterford and Rochedale in Queensland Australia - continue to support the education of all our LCH children! We love these guys!

AND FINALLY, IN CAVAILLON - DURING THE JULY/AUGUST SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

• Through your generosity - we will now be able to provide the extraordinary opportunity for our 9 orphans at Love Community Home to attend their first ever SUMMER CAMP at Cavaillon in the peaceful countryside, near Les Cayes - a three hour bus trip away from the violent streets of Carrefour. They will take part in this special Summer Camp free of fear and uncertainty and will join in with a larger group, treated to organised activities and meals all together as a community
