Welcome to Frontier Projects Haiti:
Future Directions
This is a private page for the ongoing development of Future Directions: the shared vision forward for projects undertaken by:
i) Frontier Projects Haiti (based in Australia), and ii) Light for Living International Ministries (based in Haiti) All projects are initiated through Light for Living International Ministries (LIFLIM) in Haiti - developed through the on-going consultation and relationship they have with the communities they serve; seeking to meet the needs and relieve the poverty and suffering of vulnerable children and families in Haiti - without regard to race, culture or religion. We partner with LIFLIM in developing relationships with these communities - to see their dreams and visions for their children and future generations, become realised. The Future Directions Projects outlined on this page reflect the ongoing dialogue between all major stakeholders. |
Bouvier Community School
A SHORT HISTORY:
Bouvier Mountain Community - Bouvier Primary School. Together with LIFLIM, we have planned, trained and worked with the community to construct and staff a safe community school in the remote Bouvier mountains (where children were previously vulnerable to abduction, rape and trafficking when trekking 8 hours to Port au Prince to attend school). The school includes a teachers' apartment, Principal's Office, rooms allowing the building to convert to a community meeting place/church, water tanks for safe-drinking, kitchen, covered outdoor area with verandah and recently - solar power! We support all teachers with a monthly salary donation and seek to provide ongoing sponsorships for all children at Bouvier School. See photos and the detailed story so far, here. Love Community Home
A SHORT HISTORY:
Carrefour Love Community Home (formally Love Orphanage in Carrefour) is a privately-run community home under LIFLIM; for vulnerable, abandoned and orphaned children in the poorest sector of Port au Prince. This safe, small, love-filled Home is staffed by husband and wife team: Pastor Guy Vincent and Madame Vincent - and their family. We have ongoing renovation projects at Love Community Home, we seek to provide sponsorship for all children who live at or are supported through, Love Community Home - and, we seek to reunite all children with any family they may have. In this way we can then support families together - as much as is possible. See photos and the detailed story so far are here. Future Directions: Carrefour

Cavaillon Community
A SHORT HISTORY:
Cavaillon Community - Cavaillon is only 30 minutes drive from Les Cayes - Haiti's third-largest city, but the community and childen here have NO SCHOOL, NO MISSIONS-BASE and NO TRAINING CENTRE. Farming of the arable land is often devastated by drought due to lack of reliable or affordable irrigation methods. Children are the most vulnerable - wandering the streets and lacking in life's most basic needs: clean drinking water, food, and education. Most do not have the means to attend a school in Les Cayes. For CEO of LIFLIM - Reginald Celestin - this is his hometown. Reginald's heart breaks for his people - the next generation that languishes away in hunger, and lack of quality education and care. He has a vision: to establish a Missions Base, School, Training Centre and School Farm - to grow to self-sustainablility in regards to resources and food-production within 5 years. We plan to partner with LIFLIM and the Cavaillon community to purchase this parcel of arable land - approx 8hectares - adjacent to the river - perfectly flat for construction and very arable faming land! This land is pictured above. This land is available now for $15,000USD |
Carrefour Community
A SHORT HISTORY:
Carrefour Community - The suburb of Carrefour is often described as a 'bedroom community' - a place to sleep - for those who work in Haiti's over-crowded capitol city of Port au Prince. This largely residential 'commune' can be described as a microcosm of all the problems of Haitian suburban society: rampant poverty, endemic unemployment, illiteracy, limited public services and schooling, sporadic power and families trying to eke out an existence amidst often unsanitary living conditions. Smoky air fills dilapidated or temporary 'tent' residences. Many of these residences do not have ongoing access to electricity, or gas for cooking. More than 50 percent of the population have never even been to high school. The vision: to establish a Missions Base and Training Centre - for vulnerable teenagers, young adults and parents - with the dream of becoming self-sustaining within 5 years. We plan to partner with LIFLIM and the local Carrefour community to purchase this parcel of level land ready to build on. This land is pictured above. This land in the heart of Carrefour is available now for only $40,000USD
