    Zilmie Auguste, 21, (May 7, 1999) is in school to become an office secretary / administrator. She would also like to take English lessons. She finished high school in 2019 and is excited for what her future has to offer. Zilmie’s parents live in La Guanave, another city in Haiti, so she has been living with her aunt and cousins for at least seven years. She is the oldest of her cousins and she enjoys helping to take care of them. Zilmie is always willing to go the extra mile to help others.
    Shama 8, (January 29, 2012) lives in a beautiful home with her mother, baby sister, Victoria, and cousins Zilmie and Naika. She is in the 3rd grade and loves her teachers because they are nice. She is doing well in school. In fact, math is her favorite subject and she wants to become a doctor when she is older. She really enjoys learning to speak English. It is her dream. Shama and her family have been living in their new home for about a year and now they have more space to play.
    ​Jean Marc Cornillion (Pidou), 20 (January 4, 2000), is in the 10th grade. He lives with his older sister, niece and nephew. He enjoys playing soccer in his free time and he wants to be a mechanic when he finishes high school. Jean Marc likes to help provide for his family and is very independent. When he is not at school, you can find him hanging out with his friends in his local community.
    ​Kercheline Francois, 17, (May 16, 2003), is in the 5th grade. She lives with her sister, brother in law and three nephews. Her mother lives in Port-au- Prince, Haiti and was unable to care for Kercheline in her home with her other siblings. Her favorite school subject is French because she likes to speak multiple languages. In Haiti, French is formal and kids learn it in school as their second language. Kercheline goes to school in the afternoons so that she can help take care of her nephews during the day while her sister works. She is a seller. Kercheline also likes to sing and would like to practice medicine. Her current dream is to create the possibility to move back home with her mother.
    Jean El Varldanio 18, (September 18, 2001) lives with his mother and new born son in home with 12 other people, including his aunt, cousins, uncle and others. He shares a room with his mother. He is in the 12th grade. Varldanio aspires to become a social technologist and a politician. He doesn’t agree with the way his nation is being run and he plans to change it. In school, his favorite subjects are mathematics and social science.
    La Flipe Estaphanie (Darlene), 14, (November 20, 2005), is in the 4th grade. She enjoys both, her Creole and math classes. You can find Darlene dancing all the time. When she grows up, she wants to be a police officer, and with the political situations in Haiti growing stronger each day, the police force needs a dedicated person such as Darlene to defend their community.
    Molienne Poteau, 23, (April 4, 1997), is in the 11th grade. She lives with mother, little sister and brother, amongst several other younger siblings. Molienne’s favorite food is rice and she also loves cake. She doesn’t have a favorite school subject, but she wants to be a nurse as a profession. She loves fashion and her favorite color is pink.
    ​Medna Olivier Carlens, 11 (April 18, 2009), is a really happy 6th grader. He enjoys studying French because it comes natural to him. Olivier lives with his mom in a one bedroom home. He has many friends and loves to visit with them in his community. He enjoys playing soccer and other sports games, but he is a really great soccer player. He attends church with his mother and is a part of the youth ministry. When Olivier grows up, he wants to be an aviator.
    Fither Siralon, 15, (August 19, 2005) is in the eighth grade, where he excels in math. He says he will become a doctor when he is older. Fither has two little sisters for whom he takes great responsibility for. He, his mother, his sisters and step father live in one bedroom in a family house, but they are planning to build a house for themselves. Amongst the twelve people living in the house are Fither’s aunt, uncle and cousins. He is happy and grateful that he is not sick and has food to eat every day. He would soon like to attend an academy for soccer.
    Amanda Siralon 13, (April 3, 2007) is in the 6th grade. She attends school with her older brother, Fither, and also loves mathematics. Amanda would like to become a nurse. Her youngest sister was born on Novermber 17, 2018, and she enjoys being a big sister. She also lives with her parents, aunt, uncle and cousins. Amanda is happy all the time because she has a good family and food to eat every day
    Vixama Wilgens, 21 (October 18, 1998), is in the 9th grade. Although he struggles in school, he really wants to finish his schooling so that he can close that chapter in his life and better himself. Vixama has a passion for soccer. His dream is to be a soccer player that can travel from place to place. He desires to play in Maine in The United States. Vixama likes to work on cars and do paint jobs when he can find them. He lives with two friends in an apartment and is becoming more independent since he left the orphanage. His father is somewhere in Haiti, but he is unable to provide for Vixama.
    Carlentz Denoe, 18, (May 10, 2002), is in the 9th grade. He is progressing well in learning English, which is his favorite subject. He says it is easy for him to understand and it is necessary for his future. Carlentz is an amazing singer and he also loves to play basketball. Sometimes, he plays with my friends. Carlentz lives with his mom in a small room where they have bunk beds. Carlentz wants to be an engineer in the future.
    Messie Josue Jean Edmond, 12, (September 24, 2007) lives in a home with his parents, two sisters and baby brother. He is in the 7th grade and he loves his Spanish class. Messie wants to be a doctor when he grows up. He enjoys playing soccer and is learning to play the drums. He has a keen ear for music and beats. As the oldest child, he has responsibilities in his home. He likes to help out around the house and with his siblings. Messie is intelligent and very kind.
    Rebecca Edmond, 7, (October 31, 2013) was the youngest of the Edmond children, until her baby brother was born in December 2018. Rebecca is in the first grade and she has a passion for art. Currently, she is excited about learning how to read. Books make Sarah so happy. She says her favorite food is white rice with a vegetable sauce. It is healthy and makes her strong!
    Sarah Michelle Edmond, 9, (October 20, 2011) is in the 4th grade. When she is finished with high school, she wants to study to become a doctor. Sarah loves math because she wants to understands money. Her mother is a seller, who sells something different every day because her dream is to make enough money to send her four children to university. Sarah’s father is savvy. He buys, fixes and resells electronics. Sarah also enjoys dancing.
    ​Christ-lyn Franck Jefferson, 10, (November 5, 2010) is a 3rd grader. His favourite subject is mathematics because it comes naturally to him. In his adult life, Christ-lyn wants to become a backloader because he likes cars and to do physical work. He has one brother and they live with their mother. Christ-lyn’s favourite food is rice and beans.
    ​Jerry Royer, 19, (June 9, 2001) lives with his Aunt Resia in beautiful house close to the main road of Carrefour, Haiti. The house is finely decorated with antiques and is always clean. Jerry excels in school and he loves English and social science. He has a scholarship and he is in the 11th grade. Jerry dreams of becoming fluent in English and he wants to attend university in Chicago, Illinois to become a mechanical engineer.
    ​Vanessa Zepherin, 17, (May 25, 2003), is in the 4th grade. She and eight others, including her grandmother, her mother, cousins, uncle have been living in their home since 2018. Her grandmother is a beautiful soul who is concerned about the safety of all who enter into her home. Vanessa is currently pregnant and is due at the end of 2020. There is a history of mental illness in her family, and although she too, struggles in school, Vanessa is dedicated to trying, to learning new things and to continuing her education. Her favorite subject is mathematics and she spends a lot of time doing extra math prep. Her uncle is a school teacher and she would like to follow that path. Vanessa wants to be a kindergarten teacher because she loves children. She enjoys talking with her friends and spending time outside.
    ​Sindia Jean Louis, 22, (March 26, 1998), wants to be a nurse. She has graduated from high school and is now taking nursing classes at a professional school. She lives with mother and younger sister, Madana. The two have other siblings that live with their father. Sindia’s mother is a seller. When Sindia is not at school, she enjoys laying down with her family and watching TV together when the power is on.
    ​Madana Jean Louis, 20, (October 26, 2000), is in her final year of high school. Her favorite subject is French because she’s good at it and it comes easy to her. She also really loves to read. Madana dreams of being a lawyer because she wants to advocate for people. Her favorite food is rice and beans with vegetables. Madana lives with her mother and older sister, Sindia.
    Lineda Occilus, 22, (January 1, 1998), finished high school and is in her second year of professional school for hotelerie. She is kind and enjoys the customer service business. Lineda and her mother live together in a small house. Her sisters have moved out. She is the assistant dance instructor for the youth dance ministry at her church and she takes pride in teaching the young girls Haitian style Christian dance. Lineda is passionate and hard working. You can often find her smiling and taking pictures with her friends. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite food is corn.
    Samuel Phanor, 18, (August 14, 2002), is a kind teenager who has not been granted many opportunities. He has not attended school for the past couple of years, but this year his sponsorship will cover his fees and he is excited to start the 3rd grade. Samuel is currently living with his mother in one room. He has his own mattress because his little brother left to go live with his father. Samuel enjoys playing basketball and he wants to train to be a police officer when he finishes school. His favorite color is blue and he likes to eat rice with bean sauce and vegetables.
    Smiley “Mike” Phanor, 10, (October 18, 2010), is currently in the first grade. This is his first year at a new school because he recently moved to live with his father and step mother. He misses his mother and grandmother, but they are local and he is able to visit them. At Mike’s new house, he has a lot of space to play and a lot of children to play with. Mike loves to play soccer and you can often find him exploring around the community. In the future, Mike wants to be a doctor!
    ​Yndjyna Lazard, 8, (December 2, 2011), lives with her grandmother who raises Yndjyna as her daughter. She lives in a home where she loves to take responsibility for helping to cook and clean. Her grandmother is a great chef and Yndjyna enjoys learning her way around the kitchen. She is in the 4th grade and also enjoys learning at school. Her favorite subjects are French and vocabulary because she has a knack for reading. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up. Yndjyna’s favorite past time is dance. She is in a dance group at her church, where she and her family are faithful members. Yndjyna is trying to learn English and loves spending time with her cousins and friends. Yndjyna also has a great relationship with her aunt, Yndjy, who also lived in their home until August 2020 when she got married.
    ​Victoria Gloria Perrier, 7, (July 19, 2013), loves rice with bean sauce and vegetables. She is in the 1st grade and her favorite subject thus far French. Victoria is quite a super start and she loves to do hair and create new hairstyles. She also enjoys modeling and styling outfits. She enjoys music and also praise dances at her church. Victoria wants to be a doctor when she grows up and she says she likes the colors blue and red like the Haitian flag.
    Landeline Forvilus, 9, (June 29, 2011), is a first grader who absolutely loves to dance. She lives with her mother, older brother, and adult cousin. Landeline is creative and she enjoys reading and art. You can often times find Landeline trying to create art or learning to speak English when she’s not frequenting church services. There, she loves to sing and pray. Her favorite foods are rice and spaghetti. When Landeline grows up, she wants to be a chef with her own restaurant. Her mother is currently pregnant with her third child.
    Rolando Forvilus, 13, (June 9, 2007), is an avid soccer lover. He plays at a local soccer club and enjoys playing soccer on the streets with his friends and cousin. He says he is always happy because he has the opportunity to play every day. It is his dream to own a play station so he can even practice while he’s at home. Rolando is close with his little sister and you can often find them enjoying each other’s company. They love sleeping outside in a tent when the weather is nice. Rolando’s favorite subject in school is English. He is in the 7th grade and wants to be a doctor when he grows up. His mother is currently pregnant with her third child.
    ​Neri Montout, 8, (October 16, 2012) lives in a home with his parents, aunts and sisters. There are eight people, total, that live in his home. Neri’s grandmother comes over often and cares for him and his siblings while his parents are out. His mother is a seller and his father is a traveling artist. Neri is in the second grade. Although he has not studied it in school yet, Neri loves agronomy and would like to farm at some point in his life. In school, he likes math because he likes to calculate numbers. He enjoys working on cars and playing with planes. He says he wants to work hard! As a profession, Neri would like to be a pilot.
    ​Sephora Rose Montout, 7, (December 12, 2013), is a fun loving first grader who enjoys playing with her friends. She enjoys attending church services with her mom and brother and also taking photos. Sephora is the middle child. Her baby sister was born in 2018. Sometimes, Sephora is quiet, but she is very smart and always thinking. She wants to be a cosmetologist when she grows up because she loves to create hairstyles and do nails.
    ​Alexandro Bijou, 5, (December 24, 2015), is in the kindy 1 class. He loves to play with toy cars but has not yet adapted to many people. Alexandro lives in a room with his mother and baby brother, Haritzon (16 months old as of October 2019). Alexandro was born with six fingers on each hand and will require medical attention later on. He is loving and enjoys going to school.
    ​Mélissa Déborah Joseph, 7, (October 9, 2013), lives with her mother, Anicet Fritzlene, and her siblings Johnny Kenley Joseph (June 13, 2004) Kerby Ewens Joseph (February 2007), Néissa Sherddy Joseph (November 12, 2007), and Jason Jean Fritzny Joseph, August 25, ??). Melissa is in her first grade in primary school. Her father died in 2014, so she and her siblings are living with their mother at her grandfather's house. Her mother used to be a business woman and was able to take good care of her children but she is currently struggling because she has been really sick and uses most of her money to stay alive and to continue providing for her children.
