AT BOUVIER SCHOOL
We completed practical building projects of the teacher's bathroom, balcony and interior walls. We ensured that the school window shutters were added and fixed the school swing. We met with the children of Bouvier School, updated all their details and played games with them - just enjoying and loving on them. We continued to set up the computer laboratory with more donated laptops - from Coffs Harbour High School .... getting things ready to see them operating for the first time via solar power later this year! We appointed A DEPUTY PRINCIPAL AND COMMUNITY LIAISON to oversee the lead-up projects to the Solar Project installation in September (partnering with the School Principal who is more focused on the educational needs of the school). He will now continue to liaise with the parents and community who will undertake the preparation and infrastructure developments. The Deputy is Jackson Volcy. We appointed Jackson and his young family to also become ‘caretakers’ of the school – particularly on weekends when all teachers head back to their farms or trek back to their families in the city. We MET WITH OUR PRINCIPAL, DEPUTY AND NEWLY-FORMED PARENT COMMITTEE TO OUTLINE ongoing maintenance work and preparation that is essential before the solar power can be installed. The school has been subject to flooding in extreme weather and drainage had to be installed. The foundation of the school is a huge cement slab which has to be coated in polished cement so that it does not deteriorate.

Dear Frontier Project Haiti Child Sponsor families,
Hi! We are very excited to write and let you know how special it was to again journey to Haiti this April to work with the extraordinary leaders, teachers and children in Bouvier @ Bouvier School, and Carrefour: @ Love Community Home. Again, with your help, we are privileged to serve those who live with, teach and care for the children and families in these communities that battle with poverty every day of their lives. With your help, we see first hand how your commitment helps to change circumstances, bring hope and transform communities! THANK YOU!!! Our most exciting news is that Bouvier School is about to have SOLAR POWER INSTALLED this September - changing the lives of all the children and the whole community! This has been made possible through incredibly generous donations! Read all about "The Journey for Bouvier School to Solar Power and Self-Sustainability" here: JOURNEY OF HOPE 2015... we had another amazing journey with an extraordinary team!
John and I were joined by the following awesome family and friends from Aus: * our fabulous father and son team- Dave and Jacko Moye who join us every year - always the backbone of our teams with us each year - the building projects are their focus; * the wonderful Jae Moye and Anita Raman - Jae (paramedic) was back again and he brought the gorgeous Anita with him (who is now his fiancé!!- congrats guys!!) for her first journey. Jae worked with the building crew, also bringing new supplies for the clinic; Anita worked with the children and families. * the incredible Natascha Gehrke from Coffs Harbour High School - who joined us on her first journey as well. Tash worked with the children and with John and I working with the teachers. AT LOVE COMMUNITY HOME
Our team under Dave, initiated the building of the new kitchen! It will be completed by local tradesmen. We spent time with the Director and children at Love Community Home as we discussed the future directions for the Home, updated the children’s information and progress, played with these beautiful children and delivered gifts. We are so excited to say that we have now found out that many of the children at LCH have living family! We now hope to forge relationships with these family members as well. We held a special plaque dedication ceremony and remembrance to our friend, Wayne Glenn, who was part of our 2013 Team. He is greatly missed and we left this lasting tribute to him at Love Community Home.
