JULY 2025 - EOFY NEWS: A YEAR OF INCREDIBLE CHANGE AND PROMISE!

Beautiful family and friends,

As we come to the close of another financial year, we write to you with deep gratitude and thankful hearts, even as we face sobering realities in Haiti. The situation in the capital city, Port-au-Prince, continues to deteriorate.

Violence, instability, and growing poverty are leaving families in fear and desperation. Daily life is precarious, especially in Carrefour, where most of our programs and beloved staff used to be based - the staff and children at Love Community Home still are based there.

And yet, despite the trauma, your unwavering generosity is bringing hope and care – preventing food and educational insecurity.

We also especially want to thank our incredible Ambassador Michael Crossland - for his love and constant support.

DANGERS IN HAITI

With the deepest sadness but with courageous resolve, Reggie and Johanne have now had to leave Carrefour quickly - leaving behind most of their furniture and belongings. 

This was due to the local gangs specifically targeting pastors and their wives and families for kidnapping. Reggie himself was held up in his car but managed to convince the gang he was 'nobody'. We are all beyond grateful and thankful to God for his protection.

Due to these dangers of our LIFLIM staff being vulnerable to kidnapping, violence and extortion, we have had to make the hardest decision to close our Love Family Homes program in Carrefour - essentially having the only option of re-starting it in the safer area of Cavaillion - in the south of Haiti - where our partner NGO - LIFLIM, led by Reggie and Johanne Celestin, is now based.

LOVE FAMILY HOMES PROGRAM CLOSURE - IN CARREFOUR  

On Friday 27th June 2025, our Love Family Homes (LFH) program in Carrefour officially closed. It was a deeply emotional and beautiful moment of honour and celebration. Our hearts are full of thanks for Yndjy and Johanne, who facilitated this closure with great sensitivity, strength, and grace.

A special farewell letter from Frontier Projects Haiti (FPH) was shared with each parent on behalf of us all and all sponsors. There were tears, memories, and love – and we are so thankful for the photos sent through. This closure marked not just an end, but also the beginning of something new.

NEW PROGRAM IN CAVAILLON - THE LANTERN PROJECT

We are very excited to announce a new child education and nutrition program beginning in Cavaillon in August 2025 - as we transition to this new safer area and the families in Cavaillon that are desperately in need there. This will be an evolution of the LFH program, but focused on education and feeding children twice daily – all under the leadership of LIFLIM - our partner NGO.

Johanne is currently compiling names, stories, and photos of all the new children who will be sponsored through this new initiative. All sponsor funds will go directly to educating and feeding the children at school every day.

We are excited about this new chapter – and we thank you for walking with us as we continue to empower children and their families.

LOVE COMMUNITY HOME
As you will notice from the photo, there are now 8 children living at Love Community Home as there is exciting news that we have been able to return Isaac Jeune (Boyr) to his family home - which is always incredibly exciting news for any child at LCH - and ultimately, our continued vision! 

Other exciting news is that our social worker - Yndjy Belval who is employed for all our programs - will now be 100% available at LCH now that the LFH program has closed. Congratulations, Yndjy! Yndjy will assist Merline Vincent (House Mother) with all the children.

All recently underwent their EOY examinations and results will be out soon! We are planning some fantastic summer activities this July / Aug.

Hatchlings Early Learning Group in Australia heard about the incredible Love Community story through our ambassador, Michael Crossland.
Rachel Langford and the whole team at Hatchlings - across their two campuses at Waterford and Rochedale in Queensland Australia - continue to support the education of all our LCH children! We love these guys!

BOUVIER SCHOOL
2024 - 2025 has been an exciting year of transition for Bouvier School, as we implement a new operational model focused on shared responsibility between LIFLIM, FPH, the school staff, and the Bouvier community.

Key updates

* Community meetings from March–May were positive and productive. The Bouvier School Community Committee (SCC) has now been launched!

* June exams went well, and the school officially closed for summer holidays on 27th June with a GRADUATION CEREMONY and CELEBRATION - including a hot meal for all the students and staff!

* Parents will partner with FPH through our partner NGO - LIFLIM - to receive nationally accredited textbooks this coming year for every child, which will be used alongside copybooks to preserve their condition. 

* A new sponsorship structure is in place, and teacher training, school building inventories, and community feedback are all being coordinated.

* A new finance reconciliation plan is being developed to ensure that all school fees are properly collected, tracked, and deposited to Mr Jean (Bouvier School Administrator) each week.

* Ongoing and regular professional development workshops for the teachers continued this year with the support  of GOLDEN EGG HOME LOANS, Australia. Thanks to Max and the team!

Empowerment through Education - Bouvier School again supported by iNSPIRED EDUCATION
The school year has  just come to a close, with summer holidays starting mid-July. Bouvier School has over 160 students receiving an education - and 8 full-time Haitian teachers: Kindergarten to Year 6!

Inspired Education Australia (IEA) has again this year, been in partnership with Frontier Projects Haiti - with the aim to facilitate the realisation of sponsoring, improving, developing and facilitating the education of the children in need, in Bouvier School, Haiti.
